The air filtration specialist has highlighted reductions in operational emissions and increased adoption of energy-efficient filtration products in a new report

Air filtration manufacturer Camfil has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing progress against its environmental objectives and outlining priorities for achieving its 2030 climate targets.

The report highlights reductions in operational greenhouse gas emissions compared with the company's 2023 baseline.

The reductions are driven by energy-saving measures, the installation of solar power systems and increased use of low-carbon electricity across its operations.

Camfil also reported that more than 70% of its filter portfolio is now designed to minimise energy consumption during operation, reflecting the company's focus on reducing the lifecycle environmental impact of air filtration systems.

According to the report, the company has continued to advance initiatives aimed at reducing waste and resource consumption through greater emphasis on reuse, recycling and material efficiency.

Camfil has also strengthened engagement with suppliers, introducing clearer environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance expectations and increasing transparency throughout its supply chain.

Expectations are rising, from customers, regulators, and our own people.

"That means we need to keep improving how we measure, manage and reduce our impact,” said Mark Simmons, President and CEO of Camfil.

The company noted that the majority of environmental impacts associated with air filtration occur during the operational phase, where energy is required to move air through filtration systems.

The report also points to growing demand for solutions that support improved indoor air quality while reducing energy consumption, as clean air becomes increasingly linked to health, productivity and building performance objectives.

Looking ahead, Camfil said it will continue to prioritise product efficiency improvements, emissions reductions across its value chain and the expansion of circular design principles.

Future efforts will also include closer collaboration with suppliers to enhance sustainability data collection and performance monitoring.

"We know where we can make the biggest difference," Simmons said. "It comes down to better products, better data, and staying consistent in how we work with our customers and partners."
