Dornan has marked a major construction milestone on a circa €48m data centre project in Ireland, following a groundbreaking ceremony held on 20 July.
The engineering and construction company is acting as general contractor for the development, with responsibility for the civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical scope.
The project is being delivered through Dornan’s Advanced Technology Division and brings together multiple disciplines across the construction and supporting infrastructure works.
Structural steel installation began on 29 July, ahead of the baseline programme date, according to Dornan.
The company said the milestone was marked on site with project staff, subcontractors and client representatives, who were recognised for their contribution to progress on the development.
“This project demonstrates the breadth of Dornan’s General Contracting capability and the expertise we bring together across multiple disciplines,” said Brendan Herbert, Managing Director of Dornan’s Advanced Technology Division.
The development is targeting LEED Gold certification, with Dornan also working with environmental and archaeological specialists as construction progresses.
The project team is engaging with neighbouring stakeholders throughout the works, with communication intended to help address local requirements and minimise disruption where possible.
The latest milestone follows the start of structural steel installation and represents the next phase of delivery on the advanced technology development.
