Zentek has secured a commercial route into the US air filtration market after signing an exclusive licensing agreement with Applied Silver and partnering with US manufacturer Quality Filters to produce and distribute its ZenGUARD enhanced air filtration media.
The agreements allow Zentek to incorporate Applied Silver's US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered silver technology into its graphene-enhanced filtration media.
Under the agreement, Quality Filters, based in Alabama, will manufacture and supply ZenGUARD filtration products to US customers.
This will support the commercial rollout of the technology in one of the world's largest indoor air quality markets.
The move will enable the company to better target US applications including cleanrooms, healthcare facilities, HVAC systems, cabin air filtration and personal respiratory protection.
According to Zentek, the filtration media is designed to improve the mechanical disruption of microbe-carrying aerosols while maintaining a low pressure drop.
This allows systems to deliver enhanced filtration performance without increasing energy consumption.
Unlike traditional fiberglass or paper-based filters that passively trap dust like a mechanical net, graphene-enhanced systems use the material's extreme surface area, electrical conductivity, and antimicrobial properties to radically improve air purification
The company says this approach can also extend filter service life and reduce maintenance and waste disposal requirements.
