Hygienic equipment manufacturer Teknomek has expanded its heavy-duty table range with a new centre tie-bar configuration designed to support more flexible workstation layouts in cleanrooms, labs and pharmaceutical facilities.
The design places a tie bar centrally beneath the work surface, providing additional stability for tables positioned away from walls while keeping all sides of the workstation accessible.
The configuration allows tables to be used as freestanding or island workstations, giving operators access around the full perimeter of the work surface.
It can also support the repositioning of workstations as equipment, processes and production requirements change.
“Through discussions with our customers, we identified a need for a workstation that could provide the stability required for freestanding use without compromising operator access,” said Michelle Locke, Product and Marketing Manager at Teknomek.
The centre tie-bar option forms part of Teknomek's existing heavy-duty table range, which is available in different sizes and configurations.
The tables are manufactured from 304L-grade stainless steel as standard, with 316L available for applications requiring greater corrosion resistance.
Electropolishing is also offered as an option for applications where enhanced surface smoothness is required.
The heavy-duty tables are manufactured in the UK and are designed for laboratory, pharmaceutical and cleanroom environments where durability and cleanability are required.
Teknomek's current range supports payloads of up to 250kg for static tables and 225kg for mobile configurations.
The new configuration gives facilities an alternative to rear-supported workstations where access from multiple sides is required, allowing furniture layouts to be adapted without changing the underlying workspace.
In September of last year, the company also launched a new furniture range for labs, which is made-to-order and manufactured from mild steel with white powder-coated frames.
