Multivac redesigns R 145 thermoforming machine
Suitable for packing sterile medical products in small batches
The Wolfertschwenden, Germany based company says the R 145 meets the requirements of the medical products industry owing to its ease of cleaning, process reliability, and cleanroom suitability. The machine will be shown for the first time at Medtec Europe in March.
The lifting systems of the R 145 now have higher closing pressures and the sealing station offers precise temperature distribution over the whole sealing surface. Seals with higher peel strengths are produced, ensuring maximum seal quality and pack integrity.
Both flexible and semi-rigid materials as well as aluminium laminates can be run on the machine, which operates at speeds of up to 15 cycles/min.
The company now offers three compact Multivac thermoforming machines – the R 535, R 245 and R 145 – with three different levels of performance.
Multivac has also developed the T 260 Traysealer for the packing of delicate medical products such as implants in small and medium batch sizes.
“Our solutions ensure a reliable, reproducible and traceable packing process. At the same time we make possible a high degree of individualisation of the pack content and its product coding,” said Luc van de Vel, director of the MCI Division at Multivac.
