A key element of the project was its consistent focus on sustainability: the Innovation Centre is operated entirely CO₂-neutral and meets the requirements for LEED Gold certification. In this way, VAT combines technological innovation with responsible and future-oriented construction.
Tailor-made cleanroom solutions
For the complex cleanroom fit-out, VAT relied on the expertise of the Lindner Group. As a specialist in high-quality cleanroom systems, Lindner delivered a comprehensive package of services precisely tailored to the demanding requirements of microelectronics and research. In addition to implementing the cleanroom solutions, Lindner was also responsible for the planning and development of the ventilation and air-conditioning concept – a decisive factor in ensuring stable, standards-compliant cleanroom conditions.
The Variodata cleanroom wall system was used, having been specifically developed for applications in microelectronics and semiconductor technology. This modular system impresses with its high degree of flexibility and reconfigurability, making it ideal for changing room layouts and ongoing technological development. Thanks to its clear, smooth surfaces, Variodata enables hygienic and functional room design at the highest cleanroom level.
Door and ceiling systems meeting the highest cleanroom standards
Various cleanroom door systems were integrated to provide controlled and secure access. The automated Slide MOP sliding doors ensure touch-free access and, thanks to their hygiene-optimised design, make a significant contribution to particle control. In addition, the Swing Variodata door system was installed in airlock areas and can be seamlessly combined with electronic interlock controls and access control systems.
In the ceiling area, the Line 55A band grid system was installed. This refined aluminium system features a minimal visible width and allows for the seamless integration of filter fan units (FFUs) and energy-efficient LED luminaires. This creates optimal conditions for uniform air distribution, effective filtration and homogeneous illumination of the cleanrooms.
The project was rounded off by the supply of cleanroom furniture for the personnel airlocks, also provided by the Lindner Group. The result is a state-of-the-art innovation centre that combines functionality, flexibility and sustainability at the highest level.
