RCS microbial air sampler offers simpler and faster monitoring
Includes colour touchscreen and lithium-ion battery power
The complete system, consisting of the instrument and agar strips, has been validated according to ISO 14698-1 (Biocontamination Control).
The RCS High Flow Touch Microbial Air Sampler employs the principle of centrifugal impaction, whereby air is taken into a rotor and accelerated. The micro-organisms in the air stream are then gently applied to an agar strip which, after a defined incubation period, is evaluated. The RCS technology thus provides physical and biological collection efficiencies as well as an even distribution of micro-organisms, the firm says.
The main objective of the instrument’s re-design was to combine the proven RCS High Flow Technology with features for simpler, faster and more convenient handling. The new instrument therefore includes a high-resolution colour touchscreen, the sealing of which resists common sterilisation and disinfection procedures.
Key information is shown on a single screen, with commonly used symbols and functions enabling a quick change of menu and easy programming.
The power supply via an integrated, long-life lithium-ion battery gives the capacity to perform more than 35 x 1000 L measurements with one full charging cycle. Thanks to the instrument’s software-driven, continuous control of total and current battery capacity the main window always shows the number of remaining measurements.
A large selection of standardised agar media to determine total count or specific micro-organisms is available for use with the RCS High Flow Touch Microbial Air Sampler.
For higher cleanroom classes there are gamma-irradiated products in double packaging.
Optional accessories include a docking station for convenient recharging of the integrated battery, an adapter for monitoring compressed gases, software and accessories for identifying barcodes, instrument qualification plans and comprehensive validation documentation.

Unveiling the hidden heroes: Compressed gases in semiconductor manufacturing and their high-pressure diffusers
High Pressure Diffusers (HPDs) are essential for maintaining the precision of particle counts in compressed gas samples. They act as a link between the particle counter and the compressed gas line, diffusing the gas as it enters the particle counter’s sample inlet. This ensures that the pressure is controlled to prevent any damage to the sensitive internal sensor components of the particle counter’s sample chamber
