The filtration specialist has acquired Germany-based B&S Filtration Group for life sciences, industrial and controlled environment applications

Hengst Filtration has acquired B&S Filtration Group to expand its presence in high-purity applications, including cleanrooms, life sciences and semiconductor manufacturing.

Both companies are Germany-based. B&S Filtration Group develops air filtration systems used in pharmaceutical production, HVAC systems, cleanroom environments and advanced manufacturing applications where particle control and air quality are critical.

The acquisition strengthens Hengst’s position as a full-service filtration provider, combining its expertise in air, liquid and industrial filtration with B&S Filtration Group’s capabilities in high-efficiency filtration systems for sensitive production environments.

“B&S is an exciting filtration specialist with a deep understanding of filter media and adsorption technology, an ideal addition to our portfolio and capabilities,” said Christopher Heine, CEO of Hengst.

Following financial challenges in recent years, we aim to return B&S to a stable footing and leverage synergies together.

The acquisition supports Hengst’s wider transition from an automotive-focused supplier into a diversified technology group with increased emphasis on healthcare, industrial hygiene and microelectronics manufacturing.

Hengst said the integration will enhance its ability to deliver end-to-end cleanroom filtration solutions, particularly in fast-growing sectors such as semiconductors, where ultra-clean environments are essential for production reliability and yield.

How the acquisition is part of larger company expansion

Hengst has been steadily expanding its cleanroom and life sciences footprint in recent years through a series of acquisitions.

These include CSC Tech, which strengthened its HEPA and ULPA filtration capabilities for semiconductor and electronics cleanroom applications, and International Filtration Solutions, which added healthcare and medical filtration technologies.

The company has also invested in high-purity air and gas filtration development for applications such as hydrogen and fuel cell systems.

With B&S Filtration Group now joining the portfolio, Hengst is expected to further integrate its filtration technologies across regulated and contamination-sensitive environments, strengthening its offering for cleanroom operators and advanced manufacturers.
