Xplore Technologies' tablet PC has been designed specifically for cleanroom use.

The Clean Room iX104C4 Tablet PC features an AllVue Xtreme display, a user interface with Dual Mode functionality, redesigned antennae, integrated wireless modules, Windows 7 compliance and improved overall performance. It has a footprint of almost a US standard 8.5 x 11in sheet of paper and is just over an inch and a half thick.

The PC is fitted with a specially designed chassis and sealing to prevent manufacturing contamination. It also has a 1.2GHz Intel Core Duo processor; wireless connection and full compatibility with Xplore peripherals such as docking stations and mounting equipment.

“The Clean Room iX104C4 was developed based on the requirements of a major pharmaceutical company that provided valuable input in our development process. To date, approximately 500 tablets are being used in this firm’s cleanrooms, enabling a more cost-efficient process,” said Mark Holleran, president and chief operating officer of Xplore Technologies. “Xplore is in a great position to target other pharmaceutical and food companies that work in sterile environments.”
