From engineering to project delivery, cleanroom companies have highlighted the vital role women play in driving innovation and shaping the future of the sector

Cleanroom companies have marked International Women’s Day by highlighting the contribution of women in engineering, project delivery and life sciences, with leaders emphasising diversity, mentorship and collaboration as drivers of innovation.

Several organisations in the cleanroom and controlled-environment sector shared statements recognising women in their workforce and across the industry.

Nicola Coull, Managing Director at Connect 2 Cleanrooms, said the company takes daily steps to foster an inclusive culture.

“We have a proud heritage of supporting and empowering women… we focus on taking small steps every day to engender an inclusive, diverse and empowered workplace culture.”

She added that creating a culture of respect and appreciation helps organisations benefit from the strengths of diverse teams.

Asgard Cleanroom Solutions also celebrated the day, recognising women across engineering, project delivery and cleanroom construction.

“Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of all our amazing women,” the company stated in a release

Elissa J. Shane, Chief Operating Officer at TOMI Environmental Solutions, highlighted the value of collaboration across the sector.

“These manufacturer relationships are driving our SIS platform strategy forward.”

Other cleanroom and life sciences organisations stressed the importance of mentoring and visible role models for women in STEM.

Representatives from Bio-Rad Laboratories and Mueller-Hinton Agar (MHA) highlighted initiatives to support women in technical leadership and R&D roles.

“Bio-Rad has been an incredible place to grow… it actively supports women and champions inclusivity.”
“We need to be part of the system if we want to change it,” said Kanika Mishra Pathak, Director of Research and Development at MHA.

Michelle Bridenbaker, COO of Unbiased Science, said leadership and mentoring are critical to encouraging women to pursue careers in science.

“I take my responsibility here very seriously, to model what’s possible.”

Industry leaders say supporting women in engineering and cleanroom-related roles is essential as the sector grows.

With controlled environments central to pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare, semiconductor production and advanced research, companies argue that inclusive teams and diverse leadership will be key to driving innovation in the years ahead.
