Ultra-sensitive metal detection for pharma
To meet rising demand for heightened levels of sensitivity in the pharmaceutical industry, UK metal detector supplier Lock Inspection Systems is offering the MET 30+ Pharmaceutical metal detector.
The highly sensitive unit is already validated by most of the world's pharmaceutical manufacturing companies to reliably detect and reject metallic particles as small as 0.5mm for the purest stainless steels and 0.3mm for ferrous metals. Constructed in stainless steel, the detector is capable of speeds of up to 30,000 tablets per minute and can withstand even the most aggressive cleaning conditions. The unit automatically stores up to 100 product set-ups and retains 300 metal detection events in memory. Consequently, the system records the profile of products that are conductive, such as iron tablets, ensuring optimum performance and low product wastage. BatchChek software guarantees high levels of traceability and enables pharmaceutical companies to comply with FDA 21 CFR Part 11. Lock can also configure the detector as a vertical-fall system for removing any contamination from powders prior to sachet-filling. This version has a sealed-valve reject mechanism that can help avoid product leakages and cross-contamination when changing from one live ingredient to another. This mechanism protects the integrity of pharmaceutical products and safeguards personnel against inhaling airborne dust.
