TopClean pumps meet exacting standards
The TopClean CS range of hygienic centrifugal pumps from J P Pumps (a division of Johnson Pumps AB) has been designed to meet the exacting standards required for transfer of sensitive liquids in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and brewing industries. The range includes models that are certified to 3.1B, FDA, 3A and EHEDG.
The pumps are of robust, modular design and are said to be very easy to clean using CIP, SIP or manual methods. They feature standard construction materials of AISI 316L low carbon stainless steel and electro-chemical polished surfaces as standard, while for more sensitive applications smoother finishes up to RA 0.5µm are possible if required.
The open, non-clogging impeller design offers high performance, high efficiency, low NPSH values and exerts a minimum of axial thrust on the motor bearing, according to J P Pumps. A clamp seal locking device makes the pump easy to disassemble for inspection and maintenance. Other features include a wide range of mechanical seals to suit the application and hygienic connections that meet all internationally recognised standards.
Their ease of cleaning makes TopClean pumps suitable for most hygienic pumping applications in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, including ultra filtrations, reactors, tablet coating, vaccine and antibiotics, as well as for food, dairy, beverage, confectionery and CIP/SIP applications.
Flow rates are available from 1m3/hour at 1450 rpm up to 350m3/hour at 2900 rpm and pressures from 2.8m up to 100m. For applications requiring higher flows, the CSK version can deliver up to 550m3/hour.
