Shirley Cramer has been appointed as Chief Executive of the UK’s Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH). She is scheduled to join the organisation, which is dedicated to the protection of human health and wellbeing, following the planned departure of Professor Richard Parish in the Spring.
Following the joining of the RSPH and Institute of Healthcare Management (IHM) in October 2012, Cramer will also be Chief Executive of IHM, a leading professional body for health and care managers in the UK.
Cramer is an experienced voluntary sector leader in both the UK and the US and has also held non-executive positions in both countries in the public and voluntary sectors. She was previously Chief Executive of Dyslexia Action and most recently has been Interim Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s Research UK. She is also Chair of the Equality and Diversity External Advisory Group at the Department of Business Innovation and Skills.
