Recently merged Puritas Asgard has completed work on 4,000 sqm Wyeth Nutrition's Singapore facility.
Nestle-owned Wyeth Nutrition is focused on food products for infants and children, such as infant formula. The sterile conditions for the manufacture of these products is of the upmost importance.
The subsidiary was sold by Pfizer to Nestle in a historic $12bn deal back in 2012, and is a key part of the company's operations.
The project specs
The $3.7m project involved alterations and new installation of cleanroom ceilings and walls to provide space for pouch fill lines. This was constructed to an ISO Class 7 cleanroom classification.
Cleanroom expert Puritas’ scope on this project was to re-configure walk-on ceilings and cleanroom walls, to facilitate the installation of new filling lines for Wyeth. The company scope also included cleanroom doors.

The project was executed under difficult conditions, as an ‘island site’ within a live facility. Considering this, the entire timeline for the alterations was 10 months.
"Credit goes to the client’s EPCM contractor for managing the overall project, which we were proud to be a part of," Puritas stated when detailing the project.

The company also explained that one of the keys to the success of the project was its ability to re-use some 90% of the existing ceilings in the facility's new orientation.
Puritas did not work alone, the project also brought on board Jacobs Engineering as architect and engineer.
