US-based Milliken & Company has introduced two new lines of non-woven wipes, the Matrix and Captura.
The company worked for over a year with its Evolon technology partner, Freudenberg, developing the Matrix wipe, an ultra-microdenier wipe that is said to wipe extremely well, yet has superior airborne particle, fibre and wickability characteristics. "With a denier per filament of approximately 0.2, the related attributes become phenomenal", explains Chris Roman, Anticon Products Business Manager. "With so many filaments per inch, the particulate holding properties are absolutely superb." The Captura line, which utilizes Asahi Kasei's Bemliese spunbonded rayon technology, is said to have extremely high sorbency, low non volatile residues and inherently low fibres. "The fact that spunbonding is a continuous filament process lends itself to cleanliness and low fibres", says Roman.
