The contract is the third the Singapore-based engineering company inks in the last month

Acromec, the Singapore-based engineering company, has secured a contract in the healthcare sector valued at S$2.9 million (US$2.1m). This contract is expected to be completed by the first quarter of the financial year ending 30 September 2019.

An engineering service provider, Acromec specialises in the field of controlled environments serving mainly the healthcare, biomedical, research and academic sectors.

The contract is for the outfitting of an established private sector day-surgery centre and brings to three the number of contracts in the healthcare sector secured by Acromec within the last month.

With its requirements for ultra-clean controlled environments and the installation and integration of sophisticated equipment systems, the healthcare sector is an increasingly important source of demand for Acromec’s expertise.

Commenting on the number of healthcare sector contracts secured by Acromec recently, Lim Say Chin, executive chairman and managing director, said: “I am encouraged by this win. I see increasing growth in demand from private medical centres for our services. Healthy economies in Singapore and the region will hopefully give rise to more people who can afford higher end medical care. ”

With these contracts, Acromec's order book now stands at approximately S$21 million ($15.4m). Earlier this month the company secured three contracts totalling approximately S6.2 million (US$4.5m). The first contract is for additions and alterations to a new endoscopy suite at a medical centre for a repeat customer in the healthcare industry. The second client is a multinational corporation customer in the human and environmental health sector, and a third contract has been awarded to the company as the nominated sub-contractor for the fitting out of a cleanroom that complies with good manufacturing practices standards for a biomedical company in the pharmaceutical industry.
