New line covers all pharma water needs
The fewer interfaces needed in the planning and construction of complex pharmaceutical plants, the more reliable is the system. With its latest product range, Christ now offers, in addition to plants for the supply of ultra-pure water and steam, complete process solutions.
The liquid process line (Liproline) range consists of mixing tanks, preparation lines, CIP/SIP systems and plants for the inactivation of biologically active waste water.
The modular components can be combined freely with each other and with all Christ water treatment systems to produce complete turnkey pharmaceutical production plants from a single source. This means “hand shake” problems are minimised, project execution is rapid and trouble free, control systems are integrated, documentation is uniform for the entire, GMP-compliant plants. All of these features simplify the approval of the plant by the authorities and ensure economical operation.
The Liproline preparation lines are intended for the manufacture of sterile liquids and include weighing of the components, mixing, sterile filtration, sterile storage and bottling. They are planned with the aid of 3D-CAD systems and take such features into account as an isolator for highly active substances or a control system, which includes recipe management.
Process-control systems permit recipe-based operation with automatic batch logging in accordance with CFR 21 Part 11.
Further features such as explosion protection, powder input and handling or heating and cooling systems are available as options.
Three Liproline systems are available for CIP/SIP applications. Single-use CIP systems are suitable for the low-cost cleaning of small-volume systems with cleaning solutions, which are used only once. They are also available in versions suitable for wall mounting. Fully automatic CIP systems are used for medium to large process plants. Their design ensures easy handling and can be extended with options such as heat exchangers, data logging, conductivity measurement or a connection for ultra-pure steam.
The CIP recirculation systems are suitable for the cleaning of large-volume systems, since the cleaning solution is recirculated. Their bus interface permits connection to a higher-level control system. The careful microbiological cleaning prevents cross-contamination to and from other production plants.
Pharmaceutical and biotechnological waste water can be treated with the Liproline decontamination systems. These treat the waste water generated by research laboratories or production plants and are available in versions designed for fully automatic batch or continuous operation. The inactivated waste water can then be discharged into the normal waste-water network of the factory. An exhaust-air deodorisation unit is available as an option in order to prevent unpleasant smells.
The Liproline systems for the treatment of pharmaceutical waste water remove the water from the solutions to be treated and thus greatly reduce the amount of materials which has to be disposed of. In addition, the special evaporator technology inactivates certain active substances. Depending on the application, this can also be achieved by low-cost UV oxidisation of the substances with the aid of the UV units of the Liproline range.
All Liproline systems are compactly mounted on a frame, are fully self-draining, are pre-qualified and can be sterilised with steam at temperatures of up to 135°C.
