Masaryk University installs TIMOTEC cell culture isolator with integrated incubator

TIMOTEC has completed the installation of a ISO Class 5 cell culture isolator with integrated incubation in the Czech Republic

Masaryk University has commissioned a custom-built cell culture isolator with an integrated incubator from German containment specialist TIMOTEC for use in its research laboratories in Brno, Czech Republic.

The installation combines an ISO Class 5 laminar airflow work area with a built-in incubator, allowing cell cultures to be handled and cultivated within the same enclosed system without transferring materials between separate equipment.

The two-chamber isolator operates under negative pressure and incorporates vapour-phase hydrogen peroxide decontamination.

According to TIMOTEC, the system meets Leak Tightness Class 2 requirements in accordance with ISO 10648-2 and ISO 14644-7.

The integrated incubator enables researchers to maintain aseptic conditions throughout both handling and cultivation processes, reducing the need to move samples between workstations.

Designed for applications involving cell cultures and genetic material, the isolator features electronically controlled pressure differentials and air exchange, managed through a touchscreen human-machine interface.

TIMOTEC specialises in the design and manufacture of isolator technology for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and laboratory applications, with systems tailored to specific containment and cleanroom requirements.

The project follows the company's 2025 rebrand from BLOCK Technology to TIMOTEC Reinraumtechnik as part of the formation of the TIMOTEC Group.
