Give metal equipment additional microbial protection
Protective antimicrobial coatings are being increasingly integrated into metal equipment to suppress the growth of bacteria, moulds, mildews and fungi. Some equipment manufacturers in particular see the coatings as having the potential to enhance their brands.
Now the Horizon Business Group (HBG) has teamed up with Thomson Research Associates (TRA) to offer a range of pre- and post-applied antimicrobial metal coatings under the Sureshield umbrella, alongside the TRA's Ultra-Fresh family of antimicrobial technologies, which use environmentally friendly, low VOC compounds to retard microbial growth over the useful life of the metal product. Sureshield with Ultra-Fresh can be applied to virtually any metal finish. Potential applications include: cleanrooms, food preparation furniture, food processing equipment, medical and dental equipment, and many other commercial consumer or industrial products. Ultra-Fresh compounds protect coatings from the germination and growth of micro-organisms by changing the coating to one that is non-conducive to the growth of bacteria, fungi and a range of other micro-organisms. Sureshield can be pre-applied via solvent-based baking enamel to one or both sides of an aluminium, stainless or carbon steel coil. It can also be post-applied via powder or liquid aerosol spray, air spray, airless spray, brush or roller to any type and size of metal area, including: aluminium, brass, carbon steel, chrome, copper, and stainless steel. In addition it provides a long-lasting fingerprint-resistant coating in a wide array of customisable solid colours.
