Envair Technology, a UK-based specialist in clean air and containment solutions, has successfully secured a seven-figure contract to supply and install 108 laboratory fume cupboards for the University of East Anglia's (UEA) redevelopment of the Lasdun Wall.

The partnership with construction firm Mace marks a significant step in UEA’s ongoing efforts to modernise its facilities and achieve a net-zero campus by 2045.

The Lasdun Wall, a Grade II-listed structure designed by architect Denys Lasdun, is undergoing an extensive refurbishment to improve its teaching and research capabilities.

As part of the first phase of this redevelopment, Mace has selected Envair Technology to deliver state-of-the-art clean air solutions for the university’s new laboratory spaces.

The redevelopment’s first phase includes the refurbishment of four floors that will house laboratory and teaching facilities.

As part of its scope, Envair Technology will manufacture and install energy-efficient, variable air volume (VAV) fume cupboards, which are designed to meet the specific challenges posed by the building’s restricted ceiling heights.

In addition, a percentage of the units will be Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant to ensure accessibility. The installation of these advanced fume cupboards is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026.
