Cleanrooms Ireland moves to new venue
The Cleanrooms Ireland Exhibition & Conference will be held at a new venue this year with the organisers stating requests from both visitors and exhibitors as the reason for the move from Dublin.
Held in association with the Irish Cleanroom Society, the event will now be staged at the SilverSprings Moran Convention Centre in Cork on 14-15th May. "In recognition of the prominent role that Cork has played as a centre for pharmaceutical manufacture in Ireland and in order to be more representative around the country, we felt it was time to have the Cleanrooms Ireland convention located there in 2003", says ICS Chairman Conor Murray. "With the leading International names in the pharmaceutical, microelectronic and medical devices sectors servicing their overseas markets from bases in Ireland, we are already recognised as one of the most vibrant and energetic countries on the global cleanroom stage". The organisers say there are over 3,000 cleanrooms and clean environments in Ireland, with top pharmaceutical organisations having cleanrooms in the country. They also predict that there will be a strong investment and increased expenditure in the cleanrooms sector. Exhibitors include those involved in design and construction, air handling systems, filtration, equipment and components, process and system engineering, test and measurement equipment, validation, garments, consumables, and cleanroom cleaning.
Conference and events A comprehensive conference programme runs alongside the two-day event and a gala dinner has been arranged on the 14th. Site visits and a golf outing have also been arranged on the 13th May, the day before the exhibition conference starts. The site visits have the options of Schering-Plough at Brinny and the National Microelectronics Research Centre, which is said to be one of the leading information and communications technology (ICT) research facilities in the EU with a broad agenda from optoelectronics and nanotechnology to microelectronics and ICT/life sciences.
