US design-build contractor C1S Group has secured the project to convert an existing facility into a clean manufacturing environment supporting the production of defence systems.
C1S Group provides engineering, construction and commissioning services for facilities across sectors including aerospace and defence, clean manufacturing, life sciences, healthcare and advanced industrial manufacturing.
The project will include a 5,000 sqft ISO Class 5 cleanroom, alongside supporting controlled environments and infrastructure for precision manufacturing.
C1S Group will provide engineering, preconstruction and construction services.
The project also includes an ISO Class 8 utility chase, dedicated mechanical spaces, and areas for specialist equipment and support functions.
The cleanroom will use a raised access floor system and modular cleanroom wall components.
Its HVAC system will incorporate HEPA filtration, room-side replaceable fan filter units (FFUs), and temperature and humidity controls.
Process utilities
The facility will also require a range of process utilities to support manufacturing operations.
These will include specialty gases, nitrogen, vacuum, chilled water and process cooling systems, as well as upgraded electrical distribution, controls, fire protection and life-safety systems.
Dedicated chemical storage areas and specialist exhaust systems will also be installed to support processes involving hazardous materials.
C1S Group said the project adds to its portfolio of cleanroom and defence-related work.
The company has secured more than $15m in defence-related contracts over the past five years, according to the contractor.
