BioTech Medical to distribute SpectraSan 24 silver dihydrogen citrate disinfectants

Pure Bioscience has agreed that BioTech Medical can distribute its silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC)-based disinfectant under the name SpectraSan24. The agreement also grants BioTech Medical rights to market Pure’s Cruise Control product, which provides 24-hour protection against Norovirus, to the cruise line industry.

SpectraSan24 is a Category IV antimicrobial for which precautionary labelling statements are not required. Currently undergoing registration in the US, it is said to carry a 30-second kill time on standard indicator bacteria, a 24-hour residual kill on standard indicator bacteria, a two-minute kill time on some resistant strains of bacteria, 10-minute kill time on fungi, 30-second kill time on HIV Type I, and 10-minute kill time on other pathogenic viruses.
