International equipment rental company Ashtead Technology Rentals is extending its ISO 9001:2000 certification to a further two bases. The Singapore and Houston, Texas offices received their certification in December 2003, while the Aberdeen, Scotland office has had certification since 1994. The standard covers the rental of Inspection, Survey and Instrumentation Equipment for the Offshore/Onshore Market. The ISO 9001:2000 certification requires that every aspect of an organisation's development, production, installation and servicing meet quality and performance standards set up by the International Standards Organization (ISO). The standard is based on eight quality management principles: Customer Focus, Leadership, Involvement of People, Process Approach, Systems Approach to Management, Continual Improvement and Mutually Beneficial Supplier Relationships.
