Titro analyser provides key to gas scrubbing

Published: 10-Dec-2007

Gas scrubbing to remove particulates and noxious gases is a common process units across a wide range of industries.

All scrubbers rely on a fairly simple process to prevent potentially lethal releases of toxic gases to the environment and control is typically carried out by taking samples of scrubber liquor to either the plant or central laboratory. Laboratory analysis is usually carried out by titration as that is the most accurate and relevant technique for most scrubber liquors.

The ADI 2016 Titro Analyzer from Applikon Analytical is designed to bridge the gap between the process and the laboratory by carrying out the analysis on line. At the heart of the analyser is a precision burette and volumetric sampling system to provide laboratory accuracy within a robust, reliable analyser.

The ADI 2016 Titro Analyzer will provide analysis for most scrubber liquors at approximately 10 minute intervals and report data in the required format. Housed in an IP65 cabinet, it is suitable for mounting within the process environment without further protection and is also available in a stainless steel cabinet for areas where mechanical or hygiene reasons prevail.

Independent studies have demonstrated that the ADI 2016 Titro Analyzer applied to a single 1m3 scrubber can pay for itself within one year.
