Belgium-basedSwiftPharma has chosen simAbs and ABN Cleanroom Technology for services on its new GMP pilot plant in Belgium

SwiftPharma has announced it is working with simAbs and ABN Cleanroom Technology on its new GMP pilot plant in Belgium.

Belgium-based SwiftPharma uses molecular farming and a data-driven approach to design and produce next-generation biotechnological proteins faster than existing routes.

The biotech expert plans to open this new facility in the Health Campus Diepenbeek, located near Maastricht.

Expected to be operational mid April, this location will soon enable us to handle multiple GMP projects in parallel under guidance of simAbs quality system

The partnerships announced by the company in its recent announcement will fulfil multiple roles within the build. simAbs will provide a quality system, whilst ABN will provide cleanroom build services.

"Expected to be operational mid April, this location will soon enable us to handle multiple GMP projects in parallel under guidance of simAbs quality system," SwiftPharma stated in a LinkedIn post. "The facility has a capacity to grow 20,000 plant bioreactors on a weekly basis for the production of low-cost, sustainable and animalfree proteins. 20.000 plants = the equivalent of 400kgs of biomass per week. Basically one tiny forest at a time!"
