Certainty technology helps reduce, inhibit and minimise bacteria growth on garments

Strategic Partners, a US manufacturer of medical clothing, lab wear, footwear and accessories, has added medical apparel protected with Certainty antimicrobial technology to its portfolio.

The Chatsworth, CA-based company says Certainty can provide more fabric protection than traditional scrubs, giving healthcare professionals the freedom to perform their duties in comfortable, fashionable clothing.

Certainty features the patented freshness technology of DOW Chemical's Silvadur, which keeps bacteria at bay so that scrubs stay fresh and odour-free. The durable, long-lasting antimicrobial protection of Silvadur also withstands high temperatures and chlorine launderings, extending the useful life of the garment.

Additionally, the treated fabrics help ensure that the garment will remain free of unpleasant odours, decay and discoloration resulting from bacteria exposure.

Strategic Partners offers the antimicrobial technology of Certainty in a number of options, including a wide range of fabrics, styles and colours. For the first time, healthcare workers can find this protection in the Cherokee, Dickies and Code Happy brands.

This Autumn, the company will introduce Certainty Plus apparel, which will include both antimicrobial and fluid barrier technologies. These products are enhanced with Nanotex, a fabric technology that uses nanotechnology – tiny molecules that permanently attach to fibres without clogging the fabric weave or compromising the look, feel or comfort of the fabric.
