Stainless steel servomotors for sterile and high pressure wash downs

Published: 5-Jan-2010

UK-based Inmoco has expanded into hygienic environments found in food processing, beverage and pharma applications with the introduction of the SSeries of stainless steel servomotors from Cleveland Motion Controls (CMC).

The SSeries units incorporate CMC’s MDM high-energy brushless servo technology. They are manufactured in standard metric frame sizes and deliver the industry's highest available torque density, with stall torque 35% to 40% higher than conventional designs, the Daventry-based company says. This is achieved through a design that integrates cutcore, segmented stator lamination technology in a high efficiency heat transfer capsule.

The SSeries servomotors are also easy to install owing to strain-relieved cables with stripped ends. Feedback options are straightforward, with optional encoder line counts up to 5,000ppr available for all configurations.

Thermostats on the motor windings are a standard feature on the SSeries motors, and a standard motorbrake is also available across the product line. In addition, customised mounting and shaft options are available for all supported configurations.
