Sporicidal mop wipes introduced
Shield Medicare says it is the first company to offer a sterile sporicidal impregnated mop wipe for disinfecting large surface areas in cleanrooms.
According to Shield, the Klerwipe-CR Sterile Biocide B Mop Wipe will control most risks of contamination, including difficult bacterial spores. It is one of the new range of Klerwipe Impregnated Mop Wipes that "reduce time spent mixing concentrates, eliminate the need for a bucket system and offer safer disposal". Susan Menzies, senior pharmacy technician at Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, Scotland, commented during trials: "Staff love the flexibility of the mop wipe system. No need for dilution of disinfectant, no large volumes of solution to dispose of. A time saving device!" Other wipes in the range are impregnated with Premier Klercide-CR Sterile Biocide A for broad spectrum activity, Premier Klercide 70/30 Sterile IPA, Premier Klercide 70/30 Sterile Denatured Ethanol and Premier Klerclean-CR Neutral Detergent. The double-bagged wipes are in a foil pack of 20 and each wipe is easily clipped on at the back of the mop head. A specially designed lightweight mop frame incorporates an adjustable handle and wide mop head to provide efficient surface coverage.
