Published: 4-Dec-2006

Rollprint Packaging Products has launched Allegro M sealant, aimed at pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers.

The new product can be extrusion coated onto various substrates including film, foil or even paper to create a cost effective way to a achieve a clean peel.

The sealant seals to numerous rigid cup or tray structures including high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (APET), polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

Allegro M seals at low temperatures and offers a wide operating window. The sealant is suitable for challenging applications, including those that might be tough to seal due to liquid contamination on the sealing surface. Typical applications include unit-of-use liquid medications, diagnostic cartridges, pre-filled syringes and medical devices.

The sealant has a good thermal and dimensional stability and it is also suitable for radiation sterilisation.
