Purafil and Lighthouse in monitor deal

The USA's Purafil Inc has become the sole provider of airborne molecular contamination (AMC) monitors for Lighthouse World Solutions facility management systems. Lighthouse will use Purafil's OnGuard Environmental Reactivity Monitors (ERM) to measure airborne molecular contamination (AMC) levels in cleanrooms.

The ERM is said to be the first and only reactivity monitor to gauge in real time the level of AMC present in a local environment and transmit data directly to the building management system. A copper- or silver-plated quartz crystal microbalance sensor measures the mass accumulation of corrosive film that results from the reaction between contaminants and the metals. This method of measurement indicates the reactivity level of an environment with contaminant levels at, or less than, one part per billion. "We at Purafil are thrilled about this partnership," said Michael DelGais, cleanroom applications product manager. "Working with a company as prestigious as Lighthouse will afford us many opportunities to expand our product offering to meet the needs of customers concerned about AMC". Peter Maguire, regional manager at Lighthouse commented: "We decided to establish a partnership with Purafil not only because of their state-of-the-art technology but also because of the services they will provide us, such as interpreting data from the ERMs and recognizing AMC trends in our clients' facilities."
