CEMMNT, the UK-based Centre of Excellence in Metrology for Micro and Nano Technologies, has appointed Paul Newbatt as its business development director.

Newbatt will use his 20 years’ experience as a technical sales management experience to support his new responsibilities acting as the key client interface for the company’s network of over 250 multi-disciplinary micro and nano technologies.

The CEMMNT project provides services ranging from one-off rapid turnaround measurements to in-depth bespoke R&D projects that solve measurement, characterisation and systems engineering challenges for organisations developing products or processes involving micro and nano technologies.

Through its partners, CEMMNT measures and characterises materials from the molecular scale to final devices using over 50 different techniques.

“He has the broad business development, sales and marketing experience we feel is so important in this role,” said CEMMNT’s ceo Elwood Vogt. “He will act as the key client interface for access to our network of over 250 multi-disciplinary MNT specialists, which is the UK’s largest, offering organisations relevant applications knowledge and experience, along with cutting edge technology, to accelerate their innovation and commercialisation.”
