Paratherm upgrades online calculator
Paratherm has updated its online heat transfer calculations tool for engineers, designers and thermal-fluid system. Paracalc Online 2.0 is a web-based live service available at www.paratherm.com/paracalc.asp that can quickly compute film coefficients and pressure drops in a wide range of standard pipe and tube sizes across the temperature range.
No downloading or installation is necessary, and the software will instantly create a spread sheet providing data on Paratherm fluids as well as water. Upgraded to provide calculations for Paratherm’s newer heat transfer fluids, the Paracalc is now equipped with two modules, making it capable of plotting physical property data – including density, specific gravity, specific heat, thermal conductivity, viscosity and vapor pressure – against temperature, or of generating a custom table reporting pressure drops, flow velocity, heat transfer coefficient and Reynolds number across a customised range of flow rates and pipe diameters.
It can deliver this data for seven Paratherm fluids at temperatures between -100°C and 343°C, and for plain water at temperatures from 0°C to 315°C.
