Oxoid teams up to host mycoplasma seminar

Oxoid has teamed up with Millipore and Mycoplasma Experience, a specialist in mycoplasma cultured species testing and research, to host a seminar on best practice in the detection and filtration of mycoplasmas.


The one-day seminar entitled Prevention, Control and Detection of Mollicutes in Pharmaceutical Processes aims to provide vital insight into mycoplasmas, best practice in detection and filtration, aspects applicable to media fill trials, and the impact of regulation on testing.

The event will cover the use of NAT/PCR methods in the detection of mollicutes; filtration technology as a solution to reduce the risk of mycoplasma contamination in biotech processes. Also discussed will be changes to aseptic filling validations and the impact on media; regulatory aspects of mycoplasma testing and the hidden menace of Acholeplasma laidlawii.
