Vacuum and pressure manufacturer, Gardner Denver, has launched the CFT range, a compact modular filter designed to ensure oil-free air for sensitive production environments.
An essential component of the compressed air system, the CFT oil vapour removal filter is designed to reduce the amount of oil vapour in processed air down to virtually zero.
It can be installed in a compressor room for plant-scale protection, or at point of use to protect critical applications and is compatible with a wide range of oil-lubricated compressed air systems.
The filter removes virtually 100% of vaporised oil from the compressed air system. This makes it ideal for use in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, where the risk of contamination can have serious consequences for product quality and productivity.
Keith Atkinson, Global Product Manager for Downstream Equipment at Gardner Denver, explains: “Featuring a 12-month guarantee, the CFT range has been tested rigorously in accordance with the ISO8573-1 air quality standard and has had its performance validated by Lloyd’s Register.
“This ensures that, when it is used in conjunction with water separators, coalescing filters and dryers, the air it produces is ‘technically oil-free’, with a maximum oil content of less than 0.003 mg/m3.”
Its compact, activated carbon cartridges use a unique filling technique to maximise the packing density of the adsorbent bed, and an innovative design ensures that 100% of the activated carbon bed is utilised during operation, guaranteeing a high level of performance at a lower cost.
The use of cartridges also eliminates the heavy attrition, dusting and blocked particulate filters associated with traditional carbon tower designs.
