MRC Systems (MRC) has been awarded a contract for the design and construction of a new Biogeneric Pharma manufacturing facility.
Based in Egypt, MRC's scope includes the design, supply and installation of MRC's cleanroom system and associated accessories.
According to the company, the project is: “exciting and challenging… and one that aims to change the landscape of biopharmaceutical production in the region.”
Biogeneric Pharma (BGP) is involved in the development, production, and distribution of biopharmaceutical products. BGP boasts technologically advanced facilities and industry-leading partnerships, both cementing their position in their relevant field.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated BioGeneric’s facility Pharma in northern Egypt’s 10th of Ramadan City, which is set to receive the technology required to produce mRNA vaccines and biologics.
BioGeneric Pharma was chosen by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in February last year to receive the technology to produce mRNA vaccines, therapeutic proteins, and immunoglobulins for treating cancer.
MRC has supplied both the GRP and HPL system in the production and Lab areas and are currently working on the upstream area as a turnkey scope where MRC will be designing supplying and Installing its GRP system, flooring, and HVAC for the area. More information about the project is below.
It includes a phase 1 production area of approximately 1120 sqm along with a phase 2 production area of another 2000 sqm and with a phase 3 production area of 1110 sqm, a total of 4100 sqm.
In addition to production, multiple warehousing and laboratory areas are being constructed on-site. MRC is providing their market leading GRP cleanroom paneling system for this project, along with MRC GRP doors and a range of complementary accessories and products.
The project is on a fast track and is being executed in two phases based on different production lines. Phase 1 and phase 2 of the production area is complete. Currently, phase 3 is under installation. Site work is progressing well, and MRC is currently supporting the integration of other services on-site including the HVAC works.
Now in phase 3 of the project, MRC is currently finishing the panelling, flooring, and the HVAC installation.
