Telstar’s latest Class II biological safety cabinets provide the highest level of protection for operator, product and environment by minimising hazards inherent to working with agents assigned to biosafety levels 1, 2 and 3.
There are two models in the Spanish company’s BioVanguard series: the BioVanguard and BioVanguard B.
The BioVanguard is for operators carrying out microbiological research with biological agents (bacteria, viruses, etc.) and allergens.
The BioVanguard B (with additional first stage HEPA filtration) is for high risk microbiological and highly toxic applications, such as the production of cytotoxic medicines.
Possessing all the features of an ergonomic, high quality, performance cabinet, the BioVanguard series offers low sound level, low energy consumption and low maintenance costs. The cabinets are fitted with Green Line EC fans, resulting in lower energy consumption (about 30% less than the average biological safety cabinet).
The cabinets also have an ergonomic sloped front window, easy-to-clean sliding/hinged front window, ultra safe multi-shell construction, UV light and gas valve safety control, worktop with air slots, maintenance reducing pre-filter and drip tray, filter clogging compensation and the patented 4F System (Fast, Friendly and eFFicient) to support replacement of the filters.
Furthermore, downflow velocity can be set up to 0.45m/s (according to GMP Annex 1 and PIC regulations) and connections are available for particle count sensor, pressure sensor and temperature/relative humidity sensor.
