New location and new head for Biogel

It is all change for Molnlycke Health Care’s surgical gloves business Biogel, which this week, moved its base to the US and appointed a new business head.


The Biogel headquarters, formerly based in Irlam, Salford, is now located in Norcross, Georgia, where Molnlycke Health Care Americas is also located.

However, research and development and some other support functions, will continue to be based in Irlam, Salford, UK.

Lundy Fields, who will continue as president of Americas surgical division, has been appointed global head of the gloves business unit.

“We expect Lundy to duplicate globally the success of the US model he's built over the past few years as Surgical Division head," said Bob Contreras, president of the global surgical division. "He has grown our sales and profitability in a highly competitive market through his leadership style, focusing on Molnlycke's values of passion, integrity and learning."

Molnlycke’s portfolio includes a powder-free glove line pioneered using thin inner coating of acrylate terpolymer, which eliminates the need to use potentially hazardous powder lubricant.
