Norwood, the specialist in demountable modular partitioning, ceilings and doors for cleanrooms and labs, has won a contract to provide partition walls at an advanced manufacturing factory in Northamptonshire which will support the prestigious motoring brand Aston Martin’s Cognizant Formula One team.
Norwood is responsible for manufacturing and installing 5,000 sqm of bespoke fire and non-fire-rated modular internal partitions. This is in order to separate the various zones throughout the state-of-the-art facility’s advanced manufacturing area and cleanrooms.
The large-scale project uses made-to-measure walls with a thickness of 125 mm. This is with the purpose of accommodating a back-to-back flash dado which will allow all electrical services to be hidden in the wall, resulting in efficient use of the space, as well as a clean aesthetic and a seamless, high-quality finish.
Norwood also undertook project-specific fire tests.
Norwood’s Managing Director, Josh Bannister, said: “We’re delighted to align with such a quintessential British brand and have the opportunity to showcase our workmanship in this world-class facility. We all associate Aston Martin with classic, understated luxury and we hope that the fit and finish of our modular partitions will reflect that ethos and aesthetic.”
The team’s new headquarters encompass the factory and are located next to the historic Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit in Northamptonshire.

The project is being delivered using a host of trusted subcontractors, such as Norwood, to execute various elements of the build to the highest possible standard.
The total internal floor area for the completed development will be circa 300,000 sqft across three buildings, one housing the team's design, manufacturing and marketing resource, the second a testing wind tunnel and the third a central hub featuring staff amenities and a logistics centre.
This is with a view to cementing the team’s long-term World Championship aspirations and it marks the first all-new factory in F1 in the UK for 17 years.
