Modular Devices has secured a national group purchasing agreement with Premier, Inc covering mobile and modular pharmacy cleanroom solutions for hospitals and health systems across the US.
The new agreement allows Premier members, at their discretion, to take advantage of special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier for Modular Devices’ Mobile and Modular Pharmacy Cleanrooms.
Premier Inc is an American healthcare improvement company that operates as an alliance of approximately 4,350 US hospitals and 300,000 other provider organisations.
David Frank, Chief Marketing Officer at Modular Devices, told Cleanroom Technology that the company began to explore partnerships with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) on the pharmacy compounding side of the business around 18 months ago, based on feedback from the sales team.
“Around the time we engaged in that research, Premier was soliciting responses for an RFP to support their members with the type of solutions we provide. The timing of the request was validation of the type of customer need we were experiencing in the field,” said Frank.
The agreement became effective on 1st March, and enables Premier members to access pre-negotiated pricing and terms for the company’s cleanroom infrastructure offerings.
The move strengthens Modular Devices’ position in the healthcare cleanroom sector, particularly in the growing market for flexible sterile compounding environments that support compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
Modular Devices’ mobile pharmacy compounding cleanrooms are designed for rapid deployment and can be operational within days.
The company said its solutions are intended to help healthcare facilities maintain pharmacy operations during renovations, equipment upgrades, emergency response situations and periods of increased demand.
“[We] expanded into the mobile and modular cleanroom space about 10 years ago, as USP regulations changed and healthcare providers needed to upgrade their pharmacy spaces to accommodate those changes,” said Frank.
Frank said that over the past five years the company’s total fleet has grown from about 30 assets to well over 100.
“We expect that growth to continue,” said the Chief Marketing Officer.
What do Modular Devices supply?
The US-based healthcare infrastructure company supplies both mobile lease units and pre-built modular cleanrooms.
The units can be installed indoors or outdoors and are intended for short- or long-term use.
For permanent installations, the company also provides panel-based modular cleanroom systems that integrate with existing healthcare infrastructure.
The systems are available in standardised and customised configurations and are designed to comply with USP, ISO and cGMP requirements.
“While we can’t speak directly for Premier, the ability to provide both interim and long-term solutions to their hospital pharmacy clients, from a skilled and trusted partner provider, enables them to more fully service the needs of their member base in the ways they are asking to be served,” said Frank.
