Lonza launches PyroSense system for endotoxin detection
Lonza, the global life sciences company, has launched the PyroSense on-line monitoring system for the automatic detection of endotoxin in water systems.
The PyroSense system provides automatic, quantitative determination of endotoxin in water at user selected intervals, using a standard assay system with a patented endotoxin-specific PyroGene recombinant Factor C assay.
The system is designed to test around the clock, seven days a week in production environments with minimal supervision. All the reagents and accessories are provided in a disposable cartridge that can be changed by non-technical personnel or by production or quality control (QC) staff.
Water testing represents approximately 50% or more of the current average volume of testing in the QC laboratory. The PyroSense system offers a cost-effective solution for early identification of potential contamination in your water system, reducing overall
testing costs and reducing risk.
Developed to meet the growing need for better control of water quality for production purposes, the PyroSense system facilitates the move towards direct on-line monitoring of raw or in-process materials, in line with the FDA and EMEA Process Analytical Technology (PAT) Initiatives.
