Infection control starts at the door

Published: 17-Apr-2006

The repercussions of infectious diseases spreading in a hospital can be catastrophic and potentially fatal so the ability for hospitals to control infections is paramount.

Envirodoor’s range of hygienic GRP doors are designed to maintain the highest possible standard of hygiene and ensure that no harmful germs or bacteria can be spread from doors. This is particularly important given that doors are the first and last thing you touch when entering and exiting a room. Infectious diseases can potentially spread from this and can cause serious problems for a hospital environment.

The Enviro-plast doors are made from a glass-reinforced polyester and have a smooth, non-porous finish to prevent them from harbouring bacteria or absorbing moisture.

The doors do not dent, sag or corrode, and are also available in fire-rated versions, with a range of fire resistances from 30 minutes to four hours.
