InduKey releases easy to clean keyboard

Published: 5-Oct-2006

InduKey UK is launching the latest model in its short travel keyboard family, suitable for any application in hygiene sensitive and harsh environments, such as cleanrooms, and in pharmaceutical and food and beverage manufacture.

The new keyboard comes in a stainless steel enclosure with a bead-blast finish and is mounted flush in the stainless steel case for easy cleaning. The polyester front foil has a silver finish and is wear and tear resistant, withstanding most chemicals. It comes with a resistive touchpad that can be used with gloves or pen. The whole keyboard and enclosure is IP65 sealed and the steel construction makes it extremely rugged, Indukey says.

The keyboard is based on Omron mechanical short travel switches and protected by a 3mm thick aluminium frontplate. The keyboard has a standard UK layout and has the choice of PS/2 or USB interface. The complete keyboard is 43mm high and slopes to 23mm height at the front.

InduKey is headquartered in Germany with international offices and a network of global distributors.
