Howorth Airtech's new theatre of operations

Howorth Airtech has completed its first turnkey project with The London Clinic: the design and construction of a cutting-edge operating theatre, purpose-built to accommodate robotic surgery.

The London Clinic opened its newest and largest operating theatre at the end of November 2005. It will house the da Vinci Surgical System, a robotic-assisted technology that enables surgeons to treat prostate cancer by removing the prostate laparoscopically. Howorth Airtech manufactures the advanced ultraclean ventilation system, the Exflow 90-5, with its graded velocity air profile. A conventional arrangement was precluded by the exceptionally low ceiling height, which Howorth Airtech overcame by the novel modification of the Exflow canopy to incorporate two separate operating lamps.
