Healthy flat panels

Ergotron Europe is a company who provide ergonomic solutions for the computer workplace. The product range of the company consists of a wide range of monitor arms, which allow users to mount CRT and LCD monitor and peripherals anywhere they want. Ergotron's specialty mounting solutions deliver technology to the point of need, improving workflow and increasing accuracy. Recently, The Sunlight Service Group Ltd., a company that provides a comprehensive sterile gown and drape pack rental service, purchased Ergotron's Mobile Workstand - a cart for flat panels, for their Medical Device Processing Facilities. On it, they have installed two flat panels using the 100 Series direct mount pivots and keyboard pivots with 5" extensions. The packs are processed in a Class 8 Cleanroom, and the flat screens are used for R.F.I.D. Tracking. Paul Meads, Operations Director at Sunlight said 'Considerable space was saved when we used the Ergotron products. They were used after recommendation and we were impressed with their level of service. We will certainly use them again in the future'. The monitor arms enhance the space saving merits of thin LCD screens, because monitors no longer need to go on a desk. They are positioned on a wall, hanging down from a ceiling, or, like Sunlight decided to do, on a cart. The trolley gives great flexibility, because multiple users can share it and bring it wherever they need to use the computer system. Manufacturing facilities positioning monitors need to be aware of the human interface with video displays as well. For an ergonomically correct set up, the screen must be positioned centrally and slightly below eye height, with the monitor at a viewing distance of at least 50cm. When users of different postures use the same equipment, this equipment needs to be flexible enough to cater for all of them. An Ergotron swing arm will ensure health flat panels.
