Friedrich Sailer, the German furniture manufacturer for food processing areas and cleanrooms, has won the Cleanzone Award 2019 with Hygienic Design Magnet, the latest addition to the company's product line.
The Hygienic Design Magnet is a mounting solution for cleanrooms, which the company officially launched at Cleanzone.
Speaking to CT, Christoph Mützel, Managing Partner, explained: "We specialised in furniture for food processing areas and cleanrooms. It was the request of a customer who wanted to avoid damaging his new cleanroom walls that prompted the product development of the magnet."
We take advantage of the fact that the cleanroom walls and panels that are used in food businesses are usually magnetisable
Mützel said that Hygienic Design Magnet is a product for the surface-protective attachment of a variety of furnishings. "We take advantage of the fact that the cleanroom walls and panels that are used in food businesses are usually magnetisable."
The Hygienic Design Magnet has been created with hygienic design guidelines. The housing is made of stainless steel 1.4305 and has a surface roughness of Ra <0.8 μm for easy cleanability.

The wall-side sealing cap consists of an FDA-compliant silicone, which ensures the attractive forces between Magnet and sealing of the mounting surface. The limited edge of the silicone cap provides a wide-open angle for an easy-to-clean outer contour of the Magnet.
Plus, the silicone surface protects the surface coating of the wall against damage and scratches during assembly and disassembly. All this makes Magnet an optimal and unsurpassable mounting solution for all cleanrooms, GMP areas and food companies.
The Cleanzone Award, sponsored by Wiley, was presented to Christoph Mützel alongside a €3,000 cheque.
