Easy and cost-effective innovation for micro-organism identification and counting
Compact Dry, from Anachem, combines the features and benefits of traditional plate media with the advantages of dehydrated film media and offers an alternative to standard methods for microbial colony identification and counting.
Said to be ideal for use in the testing of raw materials or finished products in food, beverage, and cosmetic microbiology laboratories, this new, convenient, easy-to-use and cost-effective innovation in dry film technology provides rapid confirmation of negative or positive results.
The Total Count version of Compact Dry is the first product to receive overall European MicroVal approval. This independent international study was made under the supervision of CCFRA and is according to the newest European Norm ENISO 16140. All other Compact Dry systems are AOAC approved, says Anachem.
Compact Dry uses dehydrated selective or differential media in a compact, robust plate format. Samples are dispensed into the middle of the plate where they self-diffuse evenly over the entire surface. The covering lid eliminates the risk of contamination of the media and enables an unlimited number of units to be stacked safely together.
The sealed plates are then incubated at the temperature and time specified by the test protocol. The rigid Compact Dry construction enables easier manipulation, protecting your samples in transit around the laboratory. Compact Dry plates have a long shelf life (up to two years) and can be stored at room temperature
The system is available for a wide range of micro-organisms and when compared using regressional line data plotted against each other show a good correlation per samples tested.
