DIN-rail mounted transmitters introduced
The Ashcroft DXLdp ultra low differential pressure transmitter from Dresser Measurement is the first to be DIN-rail mounted.
The company says it has been developed to offer easier and more efficient installation and calibration. Pressurised room/laboratory and filter pressures are the primary applications of the Ashcroft DXLdp in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Compared to the conventional transducers which are flat mounted, the DIN-rail mounting reduces the footprint by a 4:1 ratio, allowing multiple installation in smaller cabinets, and thereby "significantly reducing installation costs", according to the company. As an option, and to avoid the conventional requirement to cut tubes while calibrating, a built-in Spoolcal process valve actuator can be manually rotated to isolate the process pressure from the transmitter. This allows the user to send a known or generated pressure into the unit to perform a calibration or to put the DXLdp transmitter into calibration mode, greatly reducing commissioning time. A one to two turndown is also available to reduce the number of spare units required. The unit can be used with three DIN-rail types, including EN50022, 35 and 45. It has optional LED lights indicating over-range, in-range or zero and is CE-approved to the highest harmonised specification for industrial transmitters. It ranges from 0/25 Pa to 0/125 mBar.
