CSL installs packaging lines
Two inspection and packing lines for use in a cleanroom environment at a major multinational pharmaceutical company have been designed, built and installed by UK-based Conveyor Systems (CSL).
Each line is used to convey clear ampoules of eye drops from form/fill/seal machines to 10 work stations, five on each side of the line, where they are inspected and packed. The first conveyor to be built was a 9m long stainless steel belt conveyor fitted with stainless steel work bench stations of either side of the lane. These work tables were subsequently replaced by 900mm wide non-reflective 500 grade high molecular weight polyethylene, as used on the second line. The conveyors are fitted with a 300mm wide food quality belt driven by motorised drums, which are inverter controlled to synchronise the speed of the conveyor with inspection operations.
