Copley introduces airborne fibre monitor in Europe

Copley Scientific’s Model 7400AD real-time fibre monitor, produced by MSP Corporation, the company’s partner in North America, is compact and field-portable, and offers traceability to NIOSH Method 7400 for asbestos fibres. In addition, it delivers up to eight hours of uninterrupted, automatic and fully customisable air safety monitoring.

A key analytical and safety device in manufacturing operations and asbestos removal, the Model 7400AD emits both a visible and an audible alarm when it detects user-defined concentrations of airborne fibres such as asbestos, mineral wool, advanced composites, ceramic and glass. With the help of the on-board software, the system automatically ignores non-fibrous particles and provides a count of target fibres within the user-specified performance range. During monitoring, the system simultaneously collects samples on standard filters for subsequent microscopic or chemical analysis.

In its partnership with MSP Corporation, Copley Scientific is a major supplier of equipment for air sampling and aerosol characterisation in Europe.
